Vadodara Innovation Council invites its members, well-wishers, interested and like-minded citizens to attend InnoTalk, the monthly interaction series.
Social Innovations by Ms. Swati Bedekar
* Ms Swati Bedekar is a science graduate with management degree and a founder of Vatsalya Foundation.
* She has worked extensively on educational tools and toys.
* She has developed two revolutionary yet economical products - (a) Sakhi: Sanitary napkins costing Rs 2, (b) Ashudhinashak, the incinerator can burn many used napkins at a time, and can turn them into ashes without spreading smoke
* Over 5 Lakh women have benefited from 'Sakhi' units, a self-help group to produce Sakhi sanitary napkins.
* Sakhi units already have a presence in 22 states of India and in countries like Jordan, Bhutan, Zimbabwe, Cameron etc..
* She will share insights on her innovations carried out as a social enterprise solution to an age old problem and taboo in the society.
* This project was declared as best sustainable project by United Nations Graduate women's international organisation in 2019.
