Vadodara Innovation Council has organized Tod-Fod-Jod sessions at 12 schools in Vadodara city for the academic year 2018-19. Through this special and innovative initiative, 600 students of Class 7 to 10 have benefited by learning of 10 useful and interesting household gadgets. To celebrate the success of the first year, Tod-Fod-Jod Fest 2019 was organized on April 27, 2019 Saturday at Vadodara.

Shri Sonam Wangchuk (An innovator from Ladakh, Ramon Magsaysay awardee, an inspiration for ‘3 Idiots’ film) was the Chief Guest for the entire event.

Tod-Fod-Jod Fest 2019 has three major events.

1) Competitions : 3 competitions Socho HatKe, TFJ Quiz and Do-It-Yourself were organized for TFJ trained students only. 279 students have participated in the competitions at Baroda High School, Alkapuri, Vadodara. The winners were awarded by Shri Sonam Wangchuk in the evening in the presence of over 800 audience.

  • Third Prize: Baroda High School Alkapuri Primary Section (Aditya Dhore, Vipra Dave)

Do-It-Yourself

  • First Prize: St Kabir School Vasna (Krutik Patel, Maahi Shah, Meet Bhatt)
  • Second Prize: St Kabir International School (Dipankar Sah, Vraj Bhatt, Ajinkya Hande)
  • Third Prize: Vidyut Board Vidyalaya (Dhaval Patel, Dhairya Rao, Hetpalsinh Puwar)

2) Collaboration : Unified Growth Foundation has joined hands as a regional partner for Tod-Fod-Jod. A special session for school management and trustees of different cities of Gujarat such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Bilimora, Gandhinagar was organized at Grand Mercure Surya Palace Vadodara. Schools of different cities have learnt about TFJ and agreed to start it at their schools for the academic year 2019-20. Shri Sonam Wangchuk has louded the efforts of VIC and recommended the same to various schools.

3) Celebration : The day ended with a mega event at Sir Sayajirao Nagargruh. The audience was briefed about VIC and its activities, Tod-Fod-Jod, its concept and its outcome in 2018-19. Winning entries were recognized, followed by an impressive and insightful public talk by Shri Sonam Wangchuk. The event was supported by Unified Growth Foundation and Yuvalay.
